Are Dental Veneers Right for You?
While some persons do little to maintain blemish-free teeth, the majority must work for it. So whether you look in the mirror and assume responsibility for your tooth decay, or have genes and misfortune to thank, there are multiple ways to remedy your smile. In fact, dental veneers may just be the right one.
Here at Gary Johnson DDS, Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we love to help patients discover what is best for their smiles, lifestyles, and self-confidence. As for dental veneers, let's start with the basics.
What are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are a cosmetic form of dentistry. These thin, custom-made porcelain casings apply to the front of your teeth. Veneers help to change the color, shape, and appearance of your teeth. They can cover a chip and help to reduce gaps.
How Will my Veneers be Created?
At Gary Johnson DDS, Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. johnson and team will discuss your options and hear your hopes (a consultation). Next, we will create a model for your new smile. Finally, from this model, the veneers will be made and then applied to your teeth. Don't worry! The dental veneers will feel natural in your mouth.
What Problems do Dental Veneers Fix?
- Worn-down, broken, and/or discolored teeth
- Misaligned or uneven teeth
- Teeth with gaps between
How Permanent are Dental Veneers?
About as permanent as your original teeth! Dental veneers are strong, and able to withstand the typical force of chewing. However, much like tooth enamel, a forceful accident or powerful bite can harm the veneer. Grinding, too. When it comes to intense sports or physical activity, a mouth guard is never a bad idea. Essentially, every lifestyle and activity safe for a tooth, is safe for a dental veneer!
